Regent Street is a destination synonymous with luxury and refined experiences. As such, when we were contacted by the San Carlo team to design their first central London restaurant, our team of professionals set about employing our interior design services to brighten up this unit and create a selection of dining spaces with varying atmospheres suitable for all occasions.
San Carlo, as a brand, celebrates the simple luxury of authentic Italian food – with colourful dishes and high quality ingredients served by a team of passionate wait staff, all committed to delivering the finest experience from start to finish. The entire creation of this restaurant, in terms of layout and interior details, had to reflect the passion of the brand and support the professionalism of the wait staff and the experience they were creating.
To get started, we immediately set about separating the restaurant into two different dining areas – one of which offers much more of a daytime vibe while the other is bolder in its colour palette and presents an intimate dinner setting for romantic or group meals. The differences between these two dining spaces were created through wall coverings and light fittings, as well as the detail and colouring of the furniture – with the bold patterned wallpaper in the intimate setting juxtaposing the light marble effect and neutral colour scheme in the main restaurant.
As is often the case in authentic Italian restaurants, we made sure that the bar was a focal point in the space, and that both wines and traditional ingredients were included in the décor to create that really authentic Italian vibe. The flow of movement throughout the space supports the concept of this as a luxury restaurant, utilising the full effect of our interior design services in terms of navigation, the customer journey, how wait staff interact with guests on their way to and from the kitchen and bar, and of course how the environment pairs functionality with style.
With a restaurant aesthetic which reflects the quality of the food and the guest experience, San Carlo on Regent Street is a coveted dining venue for romantic meals, catch ups with friends, and celebratory meals.
