Boasting an inside-outside layout in the heart of Chester, Piccolino is so much more than an Italian restaurant – putting emphasis on the guest experience through entertainment, the showmanship of food service and elaborate drinks, and of course the presentation of a functional but stylish and luxurious space.
When our restaurant interior design experts were brought into this project, we were told that we needed to help create a dining space which celebrated and showcased the authentic and traditional methods of cooking and presenting the food, but in a way that felt luxurious and relaxing for the guest.
The space itself boasts a largely open plan design and layout, with high ceilings which we coated in a gold reflective material to really add a hint of elegance and to reflect the light back down into the restaurant while adopting a warm and welcoming charm. The natural arches in the structure of the building played well into the hands of our built-in bars – using wine bottles as part of the decoration around the space. Meanwhile, to facilitate the client’s desire that the showmanship of Italian food preparation play a major part in the design and build of the space, we made sure that both the kitchen and the bar could be viewed from all tables – turning them into the focal point of the space.
The addition of an alfresco terrace meant that we were able to separate the two spaces, using cohesive details and colour palettes but giving the outside space a more rustic vibe. Light blue seat covers come together with wooden structures, furnishings, and ornate details to once again pinpoint the traditions of the restaurant and the brand – meanwhile we kept the feel of the restaurant light and bright by installing a light marble effect floor.
Luxury home cooking is the aim of the game in Piccolino, and we were proud to engage the best of our interior design services to give this restaurant the simple but elegant makeover it deserved.
